Ah, Diwali. It’s not just a festival but a feeling. A feeling that begins to balloon within u well before the festival. The city begins to get twinklier, the smiles get warmer, and our wardrobes get a little bit fuller, cooler and swag-er!
The run-up to Diwali is almost as exciting as the festival itself, with trips to stores scheduled for the evenings, and crackers burst by night. Letting our excitement crescendo as the day draws closer. Letting us cast longing glances at the new clothes we’ve just bought.
But before you head out to pick up your cholis and lehengas, take a look at our top 5 Fall fashion trends from the ramp.
Study it. Love it. And get it.
- The Cape and Lehenga:
Pair your long flowy lehenga with a stylish flowy cape-style blouse. Avoid a boxy look by going for an off-shoulder cape, a short cape (to show off those abs), or a sheer cape to subtly show off those curves.
- Draped Trousers
Get a pair of trousers with some drapery, flow and movement. Pair it with a short choli, a fitted blouse or even a grungy tee (once the festival is over). You’ll keep discovering new ways to wear it.
- The Shirt and Sari
We’ve always loved a blouse with a longer sleeve and collar. They’re super smart, and super stylish. This festive season, pair that sari with an ultra-chic collared shirt instead of a regular blouse. Wear it cropped and/or as a button down, and own the day.
Trade in those Salwar Suits for slick pant suits, for a truly fashion forward Diwali. You can always wear them as separates later if you want to. But you’ll have the perfect outfit for that cocktail party on Diwali night.
Midis are back this season! Pick up a well tailored midi with a pencil-style silhouette. Or, pair a high waist flaired out midi with a crop top. Try an asymmetrical style to add some height, or simply pick up a pair of festive heels!
