We live in a fast-paced world, chasing our dreams, earning a living, all the while being bombarded by social media and consumerism. It can be hard to find peace, me-time, and relaxation. What if you could make a few changes that will help you slow down your pace, smell the roses, and enjoy life as you make a living? We bring you seven habits to adopt that will renew your energy and change your perception towards life!

  1. GARDEN TIME

For at least fifteen minutes every day, go to a garden and put your bare feet on the grass. Smell the flowers and hug the trees. Nature is the best healer there is! You will feel stress and even physical pain disappear like magic.

  1. FOLLOW MOON-CYCLES

As the moon goes from new to full, it is a time to sow the seeds of our dreams and start something new as it’s a time of growth! We tend to feel upbeat during this time. When the moon goes from full to new, that is the time to release and let go of what no longer serves us, by doing clutter-clearing, for example. In any case, take time to admire the beauty of the moon through the stages.

  1. SOCIAL- MEDIA DETOX

For one day or no social mediaone weekend, turn off your mobile data connection and don’t access any of your social media accounts. Enjoy your newfound peace of mind, the pleasure of writing in a notebook along with spending real time with your family and loved ones, and communicating just through good old SMS and phone calls.

 

  1. GET ENOUGH ZZZZZ

Deep, natural sleep is essential to our well-being and health. Sleep early and wake up early, avoid artificial energy drinks or relaxing pills and see the way it recharges you and gives you a buoyant attitude towards life! Imagine feeling energetic without coffee, tea, or sodas!

  1. FOLLOW YOUR INTUITION

intuitionEverybody has experienced gut feelings or vibes or intuitive impulses which is the Universe’s way of talking to us. The next time you have a query, turn it over to your intuition. Talk to your inner self daily, ask for signs and validation, trust the process, and see the amazing changes that come about.

 

  1. CLUTTER-CLEARING

Give away what you haven’t used since six months. Ditto for what doesn’t make you feel good when you see it, wear it or hold it. Donate or delete sad or depressing movies, books, and music. This will help stuck energy flow and create wonderful shifts in your life.

  1. ENJOY ALONE-TIME

Try and spend time by yourself instead of always seeking company. Go for a walk, watch a movie, go shopping and enjoy a meal all by yourself. It may be awkward at first, but eventually you’ll get to know the real you and enjoy your own company!
