With the festive season literally around the corner, we can’t help but get a little bit more excited about the outfits we’re going to put together…about all the party shoes we’re going to put to use…
It’s emboldening, really. When the year’s about to come to an end, it’s time to let that fashionista have her last few weeks out on the town.
And so we opt for the best. The boldest. The shiniest.
Sometimes, we find ourselves emboldened enough to go for the glitter!
The risk you may be taking however, is that you end up looking like a Christmas bauble yourself.
But there are some ways to go for the glitter, and get away with it.
Here are a few:
- Sneak it in
Nothing spells oh-so-understated while being oh-so-shiny like a pair of sequinned heels or kicks.
- Play peek-a-boo
Try wearing a sequinned bustier, bralette or bra, under that top with a plunging neckline. It’ll make you feel bold yet desirably “covered up” (whatever you’re feeling) all at the same time.
- Go see-through
Let sheer meet shimmer with outfits that offer the pazzaz and the glitz, without taking away from you.
- Make way for midnight
And glitter doesn’t necessarily have to come in silver and gold. A midnight blue shimmer can be perfect for a night out on the town. It can also help create a neat day-night transition look.
- Make up with make-up
And if you aren’t going for the shimmer with your dresses or accessories, try working it into your make-up. You’ll feel (and look) like you’ve been sprinkled with stardust.
- Just go for it
Because hey it’s the end of the year! And it’s never the end of the world if you seize the day, and just LIVE a little.
So what are you waiting for?
Go, go, GOLD(or silver, or midnight blue *wink wink*)!
