So we all know how French women are notorious for being notoriously stylish. But how do they do it? We’ve studied their style closely and picked out a few wardrobe items we constantly see on the streets of Paris.
Pick ‘em up and pick up on that French Style:
- The classic black dress:
Pick up a well-fitted LBD, simple, yet ever so chic. Free of non-functional tassels, and details. But if you really want to add some drama, add to it by throwing on a whimsical tulle skirt over it. Ooh la la!
- The perfect jeans:
Jeans are never a faux pas. And they can be in any style – skinny, bootlegged, hipster . . . But ill fitting jeans always are a faux pas. And are the kind of jeans you’ll never see a French woman in.
- The striped tee:
This classic look evocative of mimes and the sea, is very French, and adds texture, warmth and comfort to an otherwise sleek look. But if you really want to look French with this and not just like the girl next door, throw on some suspenders, or a bright red neckerchief.
- The slouchy sweater:
If you’re going for laid-back, comfy and cozy, make that statement loud and clear. Throw on a thick knit sweater, and forget about the fit. If the sleeves are long, the better to pull your hands in; and if the look is boxy, the better to pair your skinny pants with.
- The trench coat:
Mysterious, classic and totally functional. Ditch your hoodies and cardigans for a truly chic look. Wear a long trench coat and instantly add some drama and style to your life.
- The perfect bag:
Nope, you can’t just wear your French look and carry any bag. It needs to be perfectly functional, yet perfectly stylish.
- The most amazing shoes:
And of course what look isn’t complete without the perfect shoes. Pair your outfit with a sleek pair of pumps, and you’re good to go!
