FOR SLITS AND STILETTOS

Work out those Calves!

J Aniston calfs

If you love wearing shorts or short skirts, long skirts with slits or leggings, heels or even flats, you might want to consider these calf exercises.

If you simply love your body, and respect it, you will definitely want to do them.

These exercises are so simple, you can do them from anywhere and you don’t even need to carry your sneakers, if you do it right. You just turn on a music video you love, and work out to it.

Let’s start by finding a square foot of space, and firing up this video on your computer or phone:

Feel the beat. Feel the beat.

Keep your feet parallel to each other.

Feel the beat. Feel the beat.

And when the lyrics start, begin.

  1. Raise your heels and bring them down in parallel position.

Keep in mind to get them as high as you can, without losing your balance and keeping your toes firmly rooted to the floor. Make sure to control your heel while bringing them down, instead of letting it drop down. Feel like a ballerina! You deserve it, because your calves are definitely beginning to feel like they belong to one.

Do this 20 times.

Turn your toes out.

Breathe for 8 counts and start exercise 2.

Keep all the rules from exercise 1 in mind. Maintain control. And you’ll feel the burn a little differently, which means your legs are getting sculpted.

Do this 20 times.

Turn your heels out. Bring your toes in.

Breathe for 8 counts and start exercise 3.

Keep the same rules in mind. You will feel the burn going up your leg. You will feel you legs tire. But persist, keep control.

Do it 20 times.

Relax.

Bend forward, touch your toes, and feel your calf muscles stretch.

Hold it for 20 and come back up.

Do a little jig to the rest of the song, and repeat the set again tomorrow.
